Clínica de Familia La Romana has received funding since 1999 from a variety of foundations and government agencies and individuals both inside and beyond the Dominican Republic, including USAID, CONAVIHSIDA, Columbia University, MAC AIDS Fund, Children Affected by AIDS Foundation, Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation, Planned Parenthood of the Great Northwest and Hawaiian Islands, Rotary International, Grand Challenges Canada, Pincus Family Foundation, and Hickey Family Foundation. Clínica de Familia collaborates with a robust network of public and nonprofit partners and business/corporate supporters, cultivates significant in-kind donations and is expanding its income-producing services.
Approximately 65% of the Clínica de Familia’s services are for clients with HIV, and are provided free of charge. The clinic charges a nominal fee for services provided for non-HIV related services, to help cover costs and generate income for the organization. However, these income generating activities only accounted for 13% of the overall income of Clínica de Familia in 2017.
The majority of Clínica de Familia’s individual donors are based in the United States, and now have the opportunity to make direct tax-deductible contributions to Clínica de Familia through the Children’s Global Health Fund.
