Clínica de Familia La Romana

Clínica de Familia La Romana, a Dominican non-governmental organization, was founded in 1999 by Dr. Stephen W. Nicholas, president of the Children’s Global Health Fund.  From its initial pioneering efforts to prevent the transmission of HIV from mothers to babies in the eastern Dominican Republic, Clínica de Familia La Romana has substantially broadened its services and programs to become a full, family-centered, community clinic and now operates two separate facilities, with over one hundred staff members and an annual budget of $1.8 million.
